Lakes Entrance Tennis Club officially launched its new LED lighting
system on its six pickleball courts last Wednesday evening.
For some time, the pickleballers have been eagerly awaiting the opportunity to try their hand under lights, alongside their tennis playing counterparts.
They weren’t disappointed, as the lighting quality, well and truly met expectations.
Courts were full and there were smiles a plenty as club president Mike Spruzen turned the keys in front of the masses.
The project was expertly led by Phil Birnie and the team at PJB Electrical Contractors, who’s strong history in LED lighting installation drew him to the club.
On the back of new court, partition fencing has been completed by local fencer Mark Stephenson.
Lighting the courts completed yet another stage in the club’s objective in improving its overall infrastructure.
Pickleball will trial a new Wednesday night competition, starting this week, in addition to its three other social sessions on Friday, Sunday and Tuesdays.
