Donna Adam and her son Jack McKenzie-Smith have lived in Lakes Entrance for the past twelve years and have long felt the town could do with a specialty burger shop.
They have now brought that idea to life with the opening last Friday of Jacko’s Burger Bar, located in the Centre Point Mall at 271 Esplanade.
“Our first day was very busy. We would really like to thank everyone for coming down and encouraging and supporting us,” Donna said.
Jack completed his apprenticeship in Lakes Entrance and is now a fully qualified chef. The menu features a wide range of burgers, sauces, as well as chicken schnitzels, parmigianas and chips.
“We source all our meats from the local Fulton’s Butchers, with all meat patties made from 100% beef—no crumbs or sausage meat added. Our chicken is crumbed with our homemade panko crumbs, and our Gummy Shark is also sourced locally,” Donna said.
“Jacko’s caters for celiacs and will soon introduce a vegan burger and Tradie Packs, as we want to cater for everybody. We will also add deliveries in the future.”
Jacko’s is open seven days a week: Monday and Tuesday from 4pm to 8pm, and Wednesday to Sunday from noon until 8pm or later.
