The East Gippsland Zone (EGZ) of Pony Clubs has a busy program of events lined up over the next few months.
The season kicks off with an eventing clinic in Orbost on January 17–18, followed by a tetrathlon on January 31. Youth Ambassador Program weekends will take place on January 31–February 1, February 28–March 1, March 21–22 and March 28 (clinic).
The EGZ Showing Championship will be held in Orbost on February 1, with an EGZ games clinic following on February 8 at Bairnsdale. The next day, the Bairnsdale Pairs Games competition will be contested, alongside a pony club interschool event (February 13) and a tetrathlon (February 14), marking a busy period for the club.
Toongabbie will host combined training on February 15, with an EGZ meeting scheduled for February 18. The Pony Club Victoria State Showjumping and Dressage Championships are set for February 21–22.
March 7–9 will be a packed period in Orbost, featuring horse trails, the gymkhana and the show on consecutive days. The EGZ horse trails will take place on March 29.
Buchan will host combined training and the dressage jackpot on April 4, with its gymkhana scheduled for April 6. The Traralgon Stockmans Challenge is set for April 11–12, with the following weekend allocated for the EGZ state clinic and coach assessments. Rosedale will hold its games competition on April 26, with the EGZ flat and musical games planned for May 2–3.
The Pony Club Victoria State horse trials will be staged on May 16–17, with an EGZ meeting set for May 20. The popular Briagolong Stockmans Challenge will round out the program on May 31.
