THUMBS UP: To the doctors and staff of the Macleod Street Medical Centre for their kind, professional approach to us when attending our appointments during 2025. Happy new year.
THUMBS UP: To the Neighbourhood House for the fantastic Christmas Day lunch the volunteers put on for everyone. The food, carols, decorations and presents were superb. It was a perfect day, thank you.
THUMBS DOWN: To Victorian Railways for only having three carriages on Sunday, December 28 when they knew it was going to be busy. Passengers had to stand or sit on the floor. Lucky they never had a smash because a lot of people would have been hurt or killed. A few weeks earlier I was on the train from Melbourne to Bairnsdale, it was also full with people having to sit on the floor or stand. It’s about time the railways woke up to themselves and considered their passengers in the country.
THUMBS DOWN: To the drivers who can’t handle the roundabouts in Bairnsdale during the holiday rush. It’s not rocket science – give way to your right, use your indicators and don’t block the intersection. A little patience goes a long way.
THUMBS UP: To the hardworking volunteers at the Lakes Entrance Surf Lifesaving Club. With the beaches packed this summer, your vigilance and dedication are keeping locals and visitors safe. You are true community heroes.
THUMBS DOWN: To those who leave their rubbish in our state forests. We welcome visitors to enjoy our natural beauty, but treating the bush like a tip is unacceptable. If you pack it in, pack it out.
