The Bairnsdale Regional Volunteer Group – Cancer Council Victoria has had a raffle running since August and is proud to say it sold out with 3500 tickets being purchased.
The group is now able to donate $7000 to the Cancer Council for use by current research groups that need a boost.
The group consists of 16 members, with six of those from Lakes Entrance, and they meet on the third Monday of the month in Bairnsdale.
As well as Christmas, they also hold raffles at Easter and Mother’s Day. Their other fundraisers are stalls at various markets with goods and craft and a permanent stall at the Orbost market.
The group drew the winning tickets at the Lakes Entrance Business Centre and library last Thursday, with all lucky winners being contacted.
