Entries have begun pouring in for the 2026 Marlay Point Overnight Race, scheduled for March 7–8.
Entries opened at midnight on New Year’s Day, and within hours nine entries had already been received, including two all-female teams taking advantage of the free entry offer.
The Gippsland Lakes Yacht Club and Lake Wellington Yacht Club have welcomed the early interest in the classic event, with entries closing on Friday, March 6.
Competitors can enter trailable yachts and sports boats, keel-type or ballasted yachts, or trailable multihulls, all measuring between 4.8 metres and 10.5 metres in overall length. This year, the first three all-female entries and the first three all-youth team entries will also receive free entry.
All sailors must hold a current Australian Sailing Number (ASN) or apply for a Sail Pass. Before entering, it is recommended to have boat details, crew details including ASN or Sail Pass (address, date of birth, etc.), and onshore contact information ready. All boats should expect to be scrutinised prior to the race.
Merchandise, including polo shirts and jackets, can be purchased when registering, with online orders guaranteed only until February 4.
