Last Saturday’s Lakes Entrance parkrun attracted the fourth biggest crowd ever, with 153 participants hitting the course.
Organisers were delighted with the numbers for the weekly five-kilometre sojourn along the Esplanade where people run, jog or walk for fun or fitness.
Local runner, Jamie Darcy, lit the course up with an exceptional time of 16 minutes and 17 seconds, only nine seconds off his personal and 11 seconds off the course record, jointly held by Eric Ueda and Xavier Chapman.
The first female home was talented teenager Mia Calleja (21.25).
The event attracted 48 first timers and 22 people recorded new personal bests, with representatives of 11 different clubs taking part.
Personal best times were recorded by Jack Gill (18.36), Matthew Jays (20.00), Trent Kooyman (21.57), Mark Robjant (22.24), Kate Robertson (22.50), Matt Cameron (23.18), Keith Richardson (25.49), Chris Mills (26.13), Emma Hutchinson (27.01), Rebecca Turnbull (27.46), Brad Wheeler (28.35), Chad Muller (32.17), Stu Sutherland (33.13), Oliver Stone (37.25), Debbie Cupitt (39.33), Charlotte Stone (40.08). Michael Stone (40.09), Maja Stajewski (40.22), Melina Perera (40.23), Russell Horney (46.18), Gina Muller (50.52) and Urszula Horbacz (55.22).
Representatives of Lakes and District Runners, Williamstown Athletics Club, Sale and District Runners, Traralgon Harriers, Darwin Triathlon Club, Redman Runners, Achilles Running Club Melbourne, Melton City Runners, Pakenham Road Runners, Lalor Running Club and Southern Peninsula Sports Club took to the course.
The event departs the rotunda at 8am each and every Saturday
