When Ian Zulic’s children were young he sculpted a dragon out of sand for them, in no time a crowd of beach goers formed around him and he thought this is fun.
From then on he enjoyed making creations on the beach, when possible, but now that he is retired every beach is a new adventure to create one of his masterpieces.
Ian persuaded his wife to also retire and they are now on their second trip in their caravan. They have just stayed in Lakes Entrance for a few days and Ian has been busy on the beach near the surf club.
The first sculpture was Santa Claus on his sled with a reindeer.
That one succumbed to the tide so the next day he was busy making a beautiful castle with a giant swan.
“It is so satisfying and relaxing, kids can’t help but come up and see what I am doing,” Ian said.
“I am happy to let them get creative and teach them some techniques, I get a great response and my aim is to chat with everyone.”
Next stop is Pambula
where more amazing creations await.
