Nephelle Wallace has had a busy few months moving her Saltwater Creative Studio to a new premises while adding a unique café at the same time.
Finding a larger space has allowed Nephelle to update and expand but still offer the same creative programs for
all to enjoy.
The café – Bones – and gallery/workshop are located in the old bait shop just
off Marine Parade and even from the outside it creates a very cool vibe.
The café offers top coffee made with local Gippsland Jersey milk, along with local produce including Primal Organic meat produce, Bush Organics vegetables and Peeks free range eggs.
“I want customers to feel they are going into their general store or corner shop, get back to our roots,” Nephelle said.
“We also have local Wildcoast Honey, from my apiarist husband, and you can scoop and weigh Australian nuts and seeds.”
The toasties are becoming famous quickly where local ingredients are used in a
variety of creations.
“Any produce that is left over is made into something, for example I made chocolate beetroot brownies last week and they were very popular,” Nephelle said.
In the art workshop, Nephelle still offers the same fun crafts, with adult resin and ceramic classes or private parties, NDIS art and craft, and children’s classes.
“Our school holiday program is coming up and is always popular,” she said.
“You can drop the kids off and now enjoy a coffee next door. I am lucky to have a wicked team of staff who ready to greet you,” she said.
It is worth a visit to understand what is on offer.
Bones is open from Wednesday to Sunday from 8am
to 3pm, but will also be open seven days a week over
the holidays.
