THUMBS UP: To the people who dive utes/4wd with tinsel on them. What a great way to spread some Christmas cheer.
THUMBS UP: To East Gippsland Shire for the prompt replacement of our missing McTaggarts Road sign. Well done.
THUMBS UP: To all the bikers who participated in the Toy Run on Sunday. Seeing hundreds of bikes riding through town to support the Salvos was a heartwarming sight. Well done to the organisers for keeping this tradition alive.
THUMBS DOWN: To the state of the roads after the recent rain. Some of the potholes on the back roads around Lindenow could swallow a small car. We need them fixed before a tyre gets blown or someone gets hurt.
THUMBS DOWN: To the impatient drivers on the Princes Highway. Yes, the caravans are slow, but overtaking on double lines near Swan Reach is just asking for an accident. Everyone wants to get home for Christmas safely, so just cool your jets.
THUMBS UP: To the new cookie shop on Service Street in Bairnsdale. It’s great to see a local family having a go and succeeding so quickly. The cookies are delicious, but you have to get in quick.
THUMBS DOWN: To the campers leaving their rubbish behind in the state forests. If you can carry it in full, you can carry it out empty. Don’t ruin our backyard for the locals who actually look after it.
THUMBS UP: To the volunteers maintaining the Rail Trail between Orbost and Simpsons Creek. I went for a ride on the weekend and the track is in magnificent condition. We are lucky to have such an asset in our region.
THUMBS UP: To the Sing-A-Long ABBA show last Friday at The Forge Theatre. It was great to get up on our feet and have a dance to some ABBA classics.
