The holiday movie season has officially kicked into high gear at Sun Cinema Bairnsdale, with a massive lineup of sequels, musicals, and family favourites drawing crowds to Macleod Street.
Leading the charge is the highly anticipated musical event Wicked: For Good, continuing the magical journey of Elphaba and Glinda.
It is screening daily, with multiple sessions ensuring locals can catch the defying-gravity action.
Families are well-catered for with the release of Zootopia 2, the follow-up to Disney’s smash hit, and the younger ones can enjoy a festive treat with A Paw Patrol Christmas, showing in select morning slots.
Horror fans are also lining up for Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, which is screening throughout the week, promising plenty of jump scares for the brave.
The biggest news for local film buffs is the upcoming preview of Avatar: Fire and Ash.
Bairnsdale audiences will have a chance to return to Pandora early, with a special preview screening scheduled for Wednesday, December 17.
This third instalment in James Cameron’s epic saga is expected to be one of the summer’s biggest hits.
Also hitting the screens from Thursday, December 11, is the star-studded comedy Ella McCay.
Looking ahead to Boxing Day, the cinema has locked in a slate of crowd-pleasers including the reboot of the cult classic Anaconda and the animated adventure The SpongeBob Movie: The Search for SquarePants.
