THUMBS UP: Thank you to the person who donated a head helmet to my husband as he had a stroke a falls often.
THUMBS DOWN: To the person/s who stole the white dressing table from the Bairnsdale Uniting Church op shop on Tuesday, November 28.
THUMBS UP: To the Harmony Scholars Choir for giving our community the best Christmas gift ever, a concert/sing-along at the Forge Theatre. It was truly magical and everyone left smiling and singing.
THUMBS DOWN: To a local eatery which was recently given advance notice of a group of approximately 70 volunteers wishing to gather for a Christmas luncheon. It’s a pity to say that most were really disappointed with both the food and the lack of service. This was despite food preferences being chosen in advance.
THUMBS UP: A huge thank you to St Brendan’s Catholic Primary School for playing Christmas carols all day. Hearing the students singing along is a bonus. Thank you from your neighbours. Merry Christmas to all of you.
THUMBS DOWN: To tailgaters on Paynesville Road. If I can’t see your number plate, you are too close. If I can’t see your headlights, you are a dangerous driver. Keep a safe distance, please.
THUMBS UP: To a local dance school’s end of year performance and particularly to the dancers who carried on despite technical difficulties – amazing.
THUMBS DOWN: To the obvious city drivers who have no idea how to drive on country roads and don’t follow safe etiquette and reasonable road behaviour.
THUMBS UP: To the local emergency services who helped when my husband had a fall and knocked his head between Dawson and Moroney streets. What amazing care was provided. It’s great to know we have such terrific support in this town.
THUMBS DOWN: To the people who disregarded others and spent so much time with their phones filming a recent concert at the Forge Theatre. It is so annoying.
THUMBS UP: To the business traders of the Bairnsdale CBD for supporting the ‘Save the Outdoor Pool’ campaign and being interested in the future of Bairnsdale.
THUMBS UP: To Whelans, the Bairnsdale Advertiser and the Bairnsdale Chamber of Commerce for making our town come alive by making our Christmas Street parade possible. Without a doubt country Victoria’s biggest and best.
THUMBS UP: To Harmony Scholars Choir who gave Nicholson Primary a bag of believe bells, lollies and snowballs at the Bairnsdale Christmas Parade. What a gift.
THUMBS UP: To the Aussie Hay Runners’ convoy of trucks passing through Bairnsdale last Friday carrying huge loads of hay for farmers in need. A truly impressive sight, and an inspirational initiative.
THUMBS UP: To East Gippsland Water for the promptness and effective attention to client needs – a great team from the front of house to down the hole.
