Metung Country Club recently renamed its premium men’s round robin teams event.
The event is an annual competition played over seven weeks and was previously named the Lake King Cup, with many members of the club participate in the event.
Earlier this year a club stalwart, Roger Arrell, passed away.
Arrell was a talented sportsman, a keen golfer and long-term participant in the Lake King Cup, his team enjoying prior success in the cup.
After his passing, the club deemed this competition should be renamed Roger Arrell Memorial Shield, or RAMS.
The final is due in the coming weeks, with many teams hoping to be the inaugural winner of the RAMS.
