Saturday golf at the Lakes Entrance Golf Club was only for the dedicated and hearty, with the weather gods playing havoc with conditions.
Only 30 players hit off for the medley stableford event, with long-hitting perennial club champion, Stuart
Yates, emerging victorious with 38 points.
The determined Les Beckett was the victor in “B’ grade with 36 points.
In last Wednesday’s ladies’ day event, 28 women took to the fairways indulging
in the popular medley par plus format.
Marlene Holmes was successful in both the overall event and “B” grade,
with an exceptional score of plus seven.
Reigning ladies’ champion, Renee Percival, continued her consistent run of form, taking “A” grade with a score of plus one.
Last Thursday’s medley stableford saw 77 players out on the course, with “A” grade player Dean Grining dominating the event with an impressive 39 points.
Peter Knight was successful in “B” grade and Allan Taylor took “C” grade on countback.
