There were mixed results in the Bairnsdale Cricket Association under 13 division two competition for the Lakes Entrance team last Friday night with a win and a defeat.
Lakes Entrance White took on Orbost at St Brendans and were 12-run winners.
Batting first the Seagulls scored 6/78 from their 20 overs with Kade Watson top scoring with nine not out, and August Neal making seven.
In reply Orbost finished on 6/66, with the leading wicket taker Levi Poynton with 2/4, and single wickets to Neal, Thomas Hayes and Watson.
Lakes Entrance Maroon restricted Metung Swan Reach to 6/82 from their 20 over allotment at the Swan Reach Recreation Reserve, with Tyler Purcell the pick of the bowlers taking 2/9.
Declan Bills and Eddie Stapleton also picked up well-deserved wickets.
In reply the youngest Seagulls were gallant in the run chase, falling just seven runs short on 5/75.
John Parkhill top scored with nine with Stapleton making eight and Mack Anderson seven not out.
In this Friday night’s matches, Lakes White will play Bruthen Black at the Bruthen Recreation Reserve, while Lakes Maroon will be host West Bairnsdale at St Brendans.
