Lakes Entrance Lions Club is moving forward with a revitalised enthusiasm to take care of the community and encourage other clubs by helping with their fundraising.
Through the Lions Club there is a monthly partnership with local community groups to assist with the Bingo hall set up. This has supported the Surf Life Saving Club, Lakes Entrance Basketball Association, Swan Reach Hockey, CFA Auxiliary and in the future the newly formed Little Athletics Club.
Apart from the weekly Bingo the local
Lions Club’s core fundraising activities include a monthly food van at foreshore market, Lions Mints and the Lions Christmas Cake sales which are now available at many venues around town.
The Lions club is also finalising sponsorship of four junior school students to
attend a five-day camp at the Lions Licola Wilderness Village.
There have been some new faces at the Lakes Entrance Lions Club, but they are actively seeking new members to expand the club’s activities in the community.
