The Latrobe Orchestra community, including its full symphonic orchestra and ensembles from the Beginner Strings Program, will present a charming afternoon of music as a culmination of this year’s music making on Sunday, November 23. at the Traralgon Town Hall.
The performance will feature Beethoven’s uplifting Ode to Joy, as well as two pieces by local Gippsland composer Dani Maree Ashmore.
All 80 children and adult members will join to bring Robert W. Smith’s captivating musical retelling of the famous paddlesteamer race on the Mississippi River in 1870 to life, with colour and innovation from the clever musical use of household items.
Maria Creighton, president of the Latrobe Orchestra, implores “everyone of all ages to come and show support for your local grass roots orchestra and ensembles. Our afternoon of joy will lift your spirits.”
Perfect for families, friends, and anyone who enjoys a good story told through music.
Tickets are available at the Gippsland Performing Arts Centre box office, or online.
