It was great to see 65 participants take part in last Saturday’s Lakes Entrance parkrun, which included 24 were first timers and seven enthusiasts who recorded new personal best times.
The five-kilometre event along the esplanade is ideal for people looking to run, jog or walk in an idyllic setting for fun, fitness or both.
Veteran parkrunner, Rob Arthurson, led the field home in a time of 20 minutes and 54 seconds in his first look at the course, finishing just ahead of Nic McConachy (20.59) who recorded a personal best time.
The first female home was teenager Mia Calleja (21.37), while others to achieve personal bests were James Rankin (22.55), Dylan Willmott (23.03), Anna Jackson (23.50), Dayna Walliker (35.32), Debbie Cupitt (41.41) and Karin Brown (44.21).
Representatives of seven different clubs took part, including Lakes and District Runners, Australia Post Group, The Adventurers, Everlasting Fitness Runners, Southern Peninsula Sports Club, WJR Latrobe and Running Mums Australia.
The Lakes Entrance parkrun started
on February 3, 2018, and departs the Rotunda in Memorial Park at 8am every Saturday morning.
