Surf Life Saving Lakes Entrance’s (SLSLE) busy season has begun, and the committee and participants are all ready to meet the challenges and enjoy the benefits of belonging to such a progressive club.
SLSLE is thankful that so many
of its volunteers are ready to take
on a role within the club, as was verified at the recent annual
general meeting.
Keith Richardson is the new president, taking over from Wally Van Dam who was president for a total of four seasons from 2021/22 through to 2024/25. Wally has also held the position of board and ski captain and stands in this position for this season.
Kristine Cordery is in her 20th year as secretary. She had a small break in 2023/24, but after much discussion returned to the role.
David Richardson is also a long-serving member and has held various positions on the committee since 2008/09 season. This year he keeps in the role of coaching and training officer along with Keith, and boat captain.
Jackie Thirlwall started in her role as treasurer in 2014/15 season and is continuing in this role in 2025.
Cameron King has held various positions on the committee since 2005/06 and continues in the role of gear officer, grants officer and
State delegate.
Jessica Woodward has been on SLSLE committee since 2011/12, which is a commitment of 14 years, continuing this season in her role as chief instructor.

“We are a very strong committee with many years of experience, our needs and dedication are a wonderful testimony of commitment to our members, community and the visitors to our region,” SLSLE secretary Kris Cordery said.
“Nippers has already began with 158 participants, skills maintenance upgrade for qualifications was held last week and patrols started on the weekend. We now have 356 members including the nippers,” Kris said.
