Stephen Crowther led the field of 45 home in last Saturday’s Lakes Entrance parkrun at his first look at the five-kilometre course along the picturesque esplanade.
Crowther posted a time of 19 minutes and five seconds and was one of 12 participants having their first look at the course.
The clouds cast a huge shadow over the proceedings, with many of the runners returning home having already showered.
The first woman home was Louise Wilson (21.16), in her first encounter with the out and back experience, that is enjoyed by walkers, joggers and runners.
Dayna Walliker (36.33) finished in a personal best time, while it was great to see eight running group represented.
The field contained participants from the Lakes and District Runners, Sale and District Runners, Everlasting Fitness Runners, Southern Peninsula Sports Club, Australia Post Group, Fulham Running Club, East Gippsland Runners, The Adventurers and Victorian Cross
Country League.
The Lakes Entrance parkrun started
on February 3, 2018, and departs the Rotunda in Memorial Park at 8am every Saturday morning.
