The Lakes Entrance under 13s were lucky enough to see some action last Friday night before the rain ruined the cricket ambitions of most players on Saturday in the region.
Lakes Entrance Maroon had an exciting win against Wy Yung at Cameron White Oval, their first for the season.
The Maroons restricted the Tigers to 3/48 from their 20-over allocation, with the wickettakers Tyler Purcell, Declan Bills and Lucas Walker.
In reply, the young lads from Lakes Entrance reached 8/82, led by 15 from Mack Anderson and 11 from Walker.
Award winners were Anderson and Purcell for standout efforts with bat and
ball respectively.
The White side went down to Metung Swan Reach by 23 runs at St Brendans,
with Zachary Matthews top scoring with nine not out in Lakes’ 5/65.
August Neal and Marli Butt were the award winners for some great efforts, particularly in the field.
In this week’s matches, Lakes White will welcome Buchan to St Brendans,
while the Maroons will play Bruthen Red at the Bruthen Recreation Reserve.
