Fresh from being named Community Event of the Year, Gippsland Opera’s iconic Opera By The Lakes is set to return to the stunning Nyerimilang Heritage Park on Sunday, March 15, 2026, with another world-class line-up of performers.
For 11 years, the event has become a pilgrimage for music lovers from across Australia and New Zealand, consistently selling out thanks to its combination of breathtaking scenery, first-class organisation and an exceptionally warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Headlining the 2026 event is the gorgeous, much-loved soprano Georgia Wilkinson.
A winner of the prestigious Sun Aria competition in 2019, Georgia has spent recent years travelling the Middle East and Europe as the star of Phantom of the Opera in the coveted role of Christine.
She will be joined by acclaimed tenor Daniel Belle.
An Opera Australia singer and a former member of The Ten Tenors, Mr Belle is currently earning rave reviews for his starring role as Jean Valjean in the New Zealand and Asian tour of Les Misérables.
Both highly sought-after singers will be accompanied by the brilliant pianist and choir director, Simon Loveless.
In a major coup for the region, the event will also feature a special performance from one of the finalists of the 2025 season of Australian Idol, William Le Brun.
Described as singing like Frank Sinatra and moving like Fred Astaire, Le Brun blends classic swing, jazz, and contemporary music.
Currently in high demand, he is performing to sold-out stadiums and has just released his first single, Drowning in Diamonds.
The program will also proudly showcase outstanding local talent, with sopranos Maddie Crombie and Maddie Clark taking the stage, accompanied by the talented Julie Lockhart.
As always, the day will be a complete experience.
Pre-concert entertainment will be provided by the toe-tapping sounds of the East Gippsland Brass Band and East Gippsland Symphonia. All amenities are catered for, with numbered chairs, boxed lunches, a wine bar, and coffee and cakes available on site, all served by the event’s famously friendly volunteers.
Organisers are urging attendees to book early.
“All you need to do is book your ticket, before the rest of Australia and New Zealand do,” they advise.
Tickets are available now through TryBooking or by contacting the box office.
