Ideal spring weather saw a large crowd attending Nyerimilang Heritage Park for the Friends
of Nyerimilng’s annual event –
Blast from the Past – on Sunday, September 28.
Organisers were delighted to see the car park filled to capacity with visitors enjoying a varied program of activities.
Classic and Historical vehicles had an excellent showing on the opera lawn with a variety of cars, trucks, a 1948 tractor and motorcycles all shown to interested visitors.
Twin Rivers Men’s Shed, garden art, flowers and history talks were another feature together with calligraphy and quilting, Devonshire teas and music in the homestead. Decorative features of locally grown native flowers were arranged on the balcony and within the homestead.
The ever-popular sausage sizzle was well supported before visitors headed down the hill to the pioneer area where whip cracking, Bairnsdale Woodcraft Group, felt-making, Bill the blacksmith, East Gippsland Light Horse, billy tea and damper demonstrations, games and displays by East Gippsland Wool and Craft Group were taking place.
Friends of Nyerimilang thanked all who participated to make this day such a successful event.
