Bell bottoms, disco beats and big moves are set to take over Lakes Entrance as Gippsland Lakes Complete Health (GLCH) celebrates its 50th anniversary with a Family Fun Fair on Saturday, October 11.
One of the highlights will be 70s-inspired, dance-style exercise sessions, led by GLCH physiotherapist Leila Raymond, who has created a special playlist of classic tracks to get the community moving.
Free 25-minute sessions will run at 11.30am, 12.30pm and 1.30pm in the Jemmeson Street carpark.
“We wanted to bring some fun and energy to the day, while celebrating the era
when GLCH first opened its doors,” Leila said.
The fun fair will also feature food stalls, live music, hula hoop performances, vegetable decorating, badge making and a community footpath chalk art installation.
A photo exhibition celebrating GLCH’s long history of care, connection and resilience will also be on display.
“For 50 years, GLCH has supported East Gippsland communities through thousands of stories of locals taking care of locals,” chief operating officer Rebecca Woodland said.
The GLCH 50th Anniversary Family Fun Fair is on Saturday, October 11 in the Jemmeson Street carpark from 11am – 3.30pm. Entry is free and all are welcome.
Seventies workout gear is optional, with prizes for the best dressed. For updates follow GLCH on Facebook.
