THUMBS UP: The East Gippsland Football Netball League senior football grand final was an amazing contest between two great teams who gave it everything in great spirit. It really was a shame there had to be a loser. Congratulations to Wy Yung and commiserations to Lucknow.
THUMBS DOWN: The grubs who have moved onto on one of the best local fishing platforms that a lot of locals and tourists use. Now nobody can enjoy the spot.
THUMBS DOWN: My elderly mother passed away recently after complaining of a painful dislocated jaw during a dentist visit. She went to the hospital after the visit and never returned home, passing away six weeks later.
THUMBS UP: To the contractors who installed two culverts in the flood prone areas of Jones Road, Eagle Point. They were skilfully and professionally put in over two days minimising inconvenience to residents.
THUMBS UP: To the volunteers at the local men’s sheds for their work repairing community benches around town. A small effort that makes a big difference.
THUMBS DOWN: To the driver who dumped rubbish along the Princes Highway near Johnsonville. Our roadsides aren’t rubbish tips.
THUMBS UP: To the teachers and staff at Lakes Entrance Primary School for putting on such a fun Book Week parade. The kids loved it and the costumes were brilliant.
THUMBS DOWN: To the person who keeps parking across two bays at the Bairnsdale shopping precinct near Woolworths. Please think of others.
