To add a little sparkle to the Friday night raffle at the Waterwheel Tavern last week, the Light Up Lake Tyers Beach group lit up the tavern with Christmas lights and Christmas panels.
“The raffle was a success with winners claiming over 20 plus prizes on offer,” Light Up LTB member Avis Salisbury said.
“The main prize was a load of firewood which was donated by the Toorloo Fire Brigade and Terry Fulford from the Lake Tyers Camp and Caravan Park. It was won by a local around the corner, which was handy.”
All the raised funds go to the funding of decorations for lights and Christmas panels adorning roads during Christmas and New Year at Lake Tyers Beach.
The next Light Up LTB Friday Night Raffles will be on Friday, September 26, and will be the last for the group for the year with fantastic prizes to be won.
“Thanks go to the Waterwheel Beach Tavern who allow the community Friday Night Raffles for this event,” Avis said.
“Our motto ‘Let’s Light Up Lake Tyers Beach for Christmas’ is growing bigger and better.
“We will be lighting up Lake Tyers Beach Road from the first caravan park to the Waterwheel Beach Tavern and Bream Road to Warfe Drive and all of Gully Road.
“There will be a competition for the best Christmas decorated home in Lake Tyers Beach, more information to follow,” Avis said.
