The Wall to Wall Ride (W2W) for Remembrance stopped in Lakes Entrance last Friday for a barbecue lunch with the Lions Clubs, Men’s Shed and the Lions Club of Gippsland Lionesses catering for more than 200 riders.
The annual ride to Canberra is to pay respects to fallen mates in the Police Force with 380 riders/pillions taking part in the ride this year from Victoria.
Brigid Baldwin, from the Lakes Entrance Lions Club, said they were expecting 250 riders to stop at the hall and thanked the Lionesses and Men’s Shed for their help.
“I would also like to thank the Youth and Recreation Hall Committee for donating the hall for the event,” she said.
The prep class from Lakes Entrance Primary School visited and the police were accommodating with all the children getting to inspect a patrol car and sit on one of the motorbikes.
The W2W ride is not only a commemoration of service and sacrifice, but a social event for enthusiastic motorcyclists across Australia. It is also an important fundraising event which directly supports the identified policing legacy organisations and charities.
