The Hancock Memorial Canadian event was the highlight of golf at the Lakes Entrance Golf Club this week.
Played on Saturday, the event attracted 36 players with the winner being Katrina Fearnley and John Timmerman with a score of 71.5.
They finished narrowly ahead of Rhonda and Les Beckett (72.125) and Lori and Rick Murray (72.625).
Ruthless and Toothless was again well patronised with 35 players taking to the fairways, with the winners Brett Dostine (“A” grade) and Les Beckett (“B” grade).
Judith Collins came out on top at Young and the Rest of Us, finishing with 17 points, two shots ahead of Faye Hammond and Betty Martino.
Wednesday was a stroke medley with Marg McManus winning the monthly medal with minus three.
Thursday’s medley stableford event saw 80 players tee up, with the evergreen Brian Hammond the winner of “B” grade and overall with 41 points, Jeff Clarke took “A” grade with 37 points and Les Beckett continued his great run of form with 39 points to take “C” grade.
He was among the winners on three days, a great effort which wouldn’t be good for his handicap.
