Nominations for the 2025 Gippsland Primary Health Awards opened on Monday, celebrating the outstanding work of primary health organisations and teams making a real difference to health outcomes across Gippsland.
This year’s theme, Challenge to Courage, honours those who turn obstacles into opportunities – challenging the status quo with innovative solutions, driving quality improvements, strengthening workplace culture and building partnerships that deliver better health outcomes for Gippsland communities.
This year’s award categories:
– Courageous Innovation – Challenging the status quo to design new models of care or workforce solutions.
– Courageous Pursuit of Quality – Demonstrating persistence in implementing quality improvements that enhance health outcomes.
– Courageous Culture – Using staff or patient feedback to strengthen workplace culture and build staff capability.
– Courageous Partnerships – Partnering with another organisation to achieve better outcomes for consumers or patients.
Gippsland PHN chief executive officer, Amanda Proposch, encourages individuals and teams to take the opportunity to showcase their work.
“These awards shine a light on the incredible creativity, commitment, and collaboration happening across Gippsland,” Ms Proposch said.
“They celebrate the individuals and teams who are driving progress – transforming ideas into action, strengthening care and building a healthier future for our communities. We encourage everyone making a difference in primary care to nominate and share their
story – it’s a chance to be recognised and to inspire others across the region.”
The Gippsland Primary Health Awards will be held in conjunction with the Gippsland PHN Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, November 19 2025 at Federation University, Churchill.
This year’s event will feature guest speaker Dr Derk Pol, director of cardiology at Latrobe Regional Hospital.
