It was a big weekend of fishing for the members of the Nicholson Angling Club, with round nine action of
the yearly competition seeing 138 bream entered and released.
The big fish were about with the longest bream landed by Airene Allen, a magnificent 43 centimetre species.
Nicholas Day put together an impressive string (200.5 centimetres), while the longest men’s catch went to Richard Allen (40.5 centimetres).
Wayne Andrea pocketed the longest bream on bait for an impressive 40 centimetre species.
Daniel Hughes’ mulloway was the biggest other catch at 52 centimetres.
Junior winners were Hamish Ellis (under 15) and Noah Roderick (under 12) with secret length prizes going to Brendon Montague, Ben Firth, Allan Aurisch and Ian Wilson.
The next competition is the annual Marlo Trip on September 20-21.
All bream are measured to the fork.
