Bairnsdale Classic Car Club hosted the recent Riley Club tour around the East Gippsland area.
On Friday, August 22, the Riley Club attended Ist Class Restorations in Bairnsdale and perused the outstanding work Andrew Vella does in his restoration factory.
The Riley Club then had lunch at the Bairnsdale RSL before heading to Peter Larcombe’s place to see his workshop and all the Rileys he has restored and indulge in afternoon tea. Beryl put on a treat with sweets and coffee.
The Riley Club then had dinner at the RSL at Lakes Entrance.
On Saturday, August 23, the Riley Club attended at Max and Valerie Curtis’ property to see the vast array of cars and motors Max has restored. Valerie put on a great morning tea and after the visit the Riley Club attended at Club Eastwood for lunch.
After lunch, the Riley Club attended Peter Curtis’ property to see his private collection of classic cars. After that they went to see Glenn Burrage’s collection of cars and his workshop museum.
The Riley Club finished the tour of the area at the RSL at Lakes Entrance.
The tour organisers were impressed with the Rileys they saw and the private collection of the local club’s members.
The organiser of the Riley Club tour said he was impressed with the collection and the enthusiasm shown by the Bairnsdale Classic Car Club and thanked everyone for helping make it a wonderful trip.
