Women’s Health Week is the perfect time to pause and prioritise something we often put last—our own health.
This year, Latrobe Health Services invites women across Gippsland to take just four minutes for a free Shane Warne Legacy Health Check.
It’s quick, simple, and could make a real difference.
Heart disease is one of the leading causes of death among Australian women, yet many of us don’t realise we are at risk.
That’s why the Shane Warne Legacy, together with founding partner Latrobe Health Services, is committed to raising awareness and empowering Australians to take charge of their cardiometabolic health.
Conducted on a SiSU Health Station, the health check takes just four minutes and measures:
– Blood pressure
– Heart rate
– Body composition
– Diabetes risk
– Estimated heart age
Results are delivered instantly via the SiSU Health app, which you can download at the station or from your app store. You can even share your results with your GP for personalised advice.
This initiative began with the Gippsland Healthy Hearts Study, where more than 85 per cent of participants were found to have one or more cardiovascular risk factors.
Since then, more than 300,000 free health checks have been delivered across Australia, at major events like the Boxing Day Test and AFL Gather Round, and closer to home at Farm World, the East Gippsland Field Days and the Gippsland Female Festival of Footy in Yinnar.
Latrobe Health Services is committed to expanding this reach, aiming to deliver 140,000 additional checks over the next year, especially in rural and regional communities.
You’ll find health check stations at more than 300 locations nationwide, community events and shopping centres. To find your nearest location, visit the Latrobe Health Service website.
While you’re getting your free health check, it’s also a great time to review your health insurance.
Latrobe Health Services offers affordable, flexible policies with excellent coverage for hospital and extras like dental, optical, and physio.
