Michael Willmott led the field home in last Saturday’s Lakes Entrance parkrun – the weekly five-kilometre sojourn along the esplanade which sees runners hit the pavement for fitness, fun and fellowship.
Willmott led 25 other runners home in 22 minutes and 34 seconds, with the first female home, dedicated local endurance runner Peta Bassett, who crossed the line in 24 minutes and 26 seconds.
The event saw two first-time competitors and three participants break their personal best times, as athletes walked, jogged and ran.
Participants departed
from the rotunda at 8am
with representatives from the Lakes and District Runners and Southern Peninsula Sports Club among the pack.
Personal best times were recorded by Bec Voss (27.11), Chai Lim (30.07) and Jenny Wagstaff (32.59).
