On a chilly morning, 37 keen and hardy participants tackled the five-kilometre Lakes Entrance parkrun along the
magnificent esplanade last Saturday morning.
The event saw seven first-time competitors and four enthusiasts, who gleefully worked their way up and down the esplanade walking, jogging and running for fitness or fun, and the fellowship that the weekly event offers.
Michael Calleja led the group home in 21 minutes and 27 seconds, with the first woman home Joanna Peterson in 24 minutes and 27 seconds.
Tania Casey (24.47) clocked up another personal best time, as did Michelle Heaver (28.38), Jenny Wagstaff (34.03) and Cody Cuthbertson (36.20).
Participants departed from the rotunda at 8am with representatives from the Everlasting Fitness Runners, Australia Post Group, Lakes and District Runners and Traralgon Harriers.
