Lakes Entrance Primary School recently hosted its prep and 1/2 athletics day.
The event was hotly contested with the winning house being Tambo (712) ahead of Snowy (542), Nicholson (531) and Mitchell (386).
The weather turned it on for the occasion with the grade six leaders essentially running the event, taking the pressure off parents and teachers.
Prep boys winners were Albie and Luke (100 metres), Xavier (long jump), Logan (shot put), with Albie also winning the discus.
In the prep girls, Ziorah was the winner of the discus with Taya dominating the 100 metres, long jump and shot put.
Winners in the grade one boys were Ledger (shot put and long jump), Henry (discus) and Boston (100 metres).
Ava won the grade one girls long jump, Thamar and Isla the 100 metres, with Thamar triumphing in the discus and shot put.
Harry was too good in the grade two boys’ long jump and 100 metres, with Noah successful in the shot put and Jeremy the discus.
In the girls section Izzy (100 metres), Alena (discuss), Wai (long jump) and Grace (shot put) the winners.
