Bruthen Fire Brigade recently enjoyed the annual awards night at Bruthen Bowls Club.
The evening is held every year in July, it is the night the brigade meets to celebrate all members as well as to acknowledge those who have attained Service Certificates, National Medals, Clasps and Awards.
More than 220 years of service was recognised on the evening, including two National Medals, three National Medal Clasps, two Life Memberships and 10 Service Awards/Certificates.
CFA Chief Officer Jason Heffernan and assistant chief fire officer District 11 Daryll Hunter were in attendance to present the awards.
Bruthen Fire Brigade was delighted they were able to attend.
Certificates of five years of service were presented to Matt Hooten, Alan Jones, Marj Jones, Anthony Martin, Neil Streeter and
Jon Whitfield.
CFA medals were presented to Sue Smith (25 years), Ken Smith (35-year life member) and Colin Froud (50-year life member).
National medals were awarded to Bob Cooper, James Nicholas, while Marj Jones received a 25-year clasp and Shane Turner, 25 and 35 year clasps.
An acknowledgement of 50 years commitment to Emergency Services was presented to Alan Jones, while the Brigade Member of the Year was awarded to Anthony Martin.
The evening was superbly catered for by Matt Hooten and his legendary smoked brisket, decadent roast veggies by Sue Smith, and the Captain’s famous fruit salad.
Bruthen Bowls Club hosted the evening with their warm country hospitality.
