The ladder leading Lakes Entrance under 13s quickly recovered from last round’s surprise defeat at the hands of Lindenow, making short work of Bairnsdale last Sunday in round 12 of the East Gippsland Junior
Football Association at the Lakeside Oval.
Sunny Eiseman, John Sowden and Callum Yates all slotted three goals, with vice captain Cooper Kennedy and Jack Hayllar each getting two. The Seagulls weren’t seriously challenged on their way to a comfortable five-goal victory.
Standout performers for the Seagulls were Eiseman, Makayla Sowden, John Sowden, Yates, Hayllar
and Kennedy.
It was another exceptional effort from the under 15s saw them run out easy 50-point winners after kicking 20 goals in a great all round team performance.
The Seagulls sit second on the ladder having only suffered one loss at the hands of Wy Yung.
Tayte Gibbs (six goals), Billy Warfe (five) and Jeremy Rotheram (three) all cashed in playing together in fully functional forward line, showing the advantage of what they could do when the ball was received in the forward line fast and
into space.
Among the best players for Lakes were Gibbs, Ayden Martin, Warfe, Mitch Ware, Rotheram and Cooper Linn.
The Lakes Entrance under 11 and 13 teams will do battle with Paynesville at AJ Freeman Reserve in Paynesville this Sunday, with the under 15s having the bye.
