Greg De Freitas, Wendy Dunstan, Alan Drayton, Jude Everett, Bill Redenbach and Joy Mobberley all volunteered at the Lakes Entrance parkrun last Saturday, ensuring another well run edition of the weekly muster. (PS)

Saturday’s Lakes Entrance parkrun saw 50 participants walk, jog and run for fun, fitness or both along the Lakes Esplanade.

Numbers were certainly bolstered by 10 members of Walliker family tackling the course for the first time.

The field was led home by Jack Gill in a time of 18 minutes and 50 seconds, with the first female across the line Judy-Allen Graham (20.55).

The event departed from the rotunda at 8am in chilly conditions with three personal best times achieved and representatives of four running groups taking part.

The weekly event continues to attract like-minded people and affords the opportunity to get some exercise while socialising.

The event saw representatives from Southern Peninsula Sporting Club, Lakes and District Runners, Redland Plodders and Macedon Ranges Running Club.

Best times were recorded by Robyn Kercher (27.54), Elise Williams (26.08) and Oliver Gannon (21.54).

The first Lakes Entrance parkrun was conducted on February 3, 2018, since then

4006 participants have completed 15,071 parkruns covering a total distance of 75,355km, recording 1873 new personal bests.
