Saturday’s Lakes Entrance parkrun saw a healthy muster of 65 participants walk, jog and run for fun, fitness or both along the
Lakes Esplanade.
The field was led home by Nathan East in a time of 21 minutes and 12 seconds, finishing just ahead of teenager, Mia Calleja (21.19).
The event departed from the rotunda at 8am with five personal best times achieved and representatives of nine running groups
taking part.
The weekly event continues to attract like-minded people and affords the opportunity to get some exercise while socialising.
It was great to see a couple of significant milestones recognised, with Jay Symons completing his 100th parkrun and Wendy Dunstan completing her lap of Australia on the Run the World app.
The event saw representatives from Southern Peninsula Sporting Club, Lakes and District Runners, Australia Post Group, Everlasting Fitness Runners, Generation Run, Newcastle City Blues, MTM (Metro Trains Melbourne) Parkrun Club, Merri Creek Running Club and WJR Latrobe.
Best times were recorded by Josh Puglisi (23.04), Liam Byrne (24.46), Jenny Wagstaff (34.47), Nathan Klep (40.52) and
Elijah Klep (40.53).
The first Lakes Entrance parkrun was conducted on February 3, 2018.
