Another local dancer from Jan Pianta School of Dance (JPSD), 17-year-old Heather Jenkins, has been successful after an audition process in being offered a full time position to study dance at the Melbourne based performing arts school Kelly Aykers (KA), in the pre-professional course for 2026.
The nationally recognised qualifications that Heather will study at KA will be a seamless transition from the nationally recognised recreational qualifications she has achieved while studying at JPSD.
Heather has gained a variety of certifications ranging in levels from classical ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary and national character dance.
While Heather is happy to have received the exciting news from KA, Heather will continue with further auditions at other various full time performing arts school in Melbourne, for experience and further options, so her choice for full time studying in 2026 will be exact progressing Heather even further.
Heathers tutors at JPSD, Jan Pianta and Shaun Carr, along with her dancing friends, celebrate with Heather as she plans to move forward into the next phrase of her performing art goals.
Jan said Heather has a beautiful and captivating stage presence that examiners in exam processes and adjudicators at dance competitions recognise, awarding her with high results for her entertainment quality, but other outstanding awards such as ‘encouragement’ or ‘most promising’.
