THUMBS UP: To the strapping young man who picked up rubbish from a certain supermarket’s (Woolies) car park on Nicholson Street. It was a disgusting, unsanitary mess and the amount he collected filled a shopping trolley, which he presented to supermarket staff. The man offered his services as a cleaner and was told they already have one. Too bad the resident cleaner’s duties do not extend to cleaning up garbage on the supermarket’s property nor clearing the clogged drain on the western side of the car park.
THUMBS DOWN: To the people who stole the snake catcher sign off the side of my car – shame on you. These signs cost a lot of money and I would appreciate its return.
THUMBS UP: To the very kind people who stayed with Eileen when she had a fall outside the Post Office on Tuesday, June 10.
THUMBS DOWN: To the supporters at the Swan Reach Recreation Reserve last Saturday, the language and abuse for players, umpires and fellow supporters left a lot to be desired. The language in front of the children was both appalling and disappointing. People should be able to go to local football and not fear for their safety just being in attendance.
THUMBS UP: To the great mural on the water tank on the rail trail at Stephenson Road Tambo Upper. What a wonderful job. It looks fantastic and is a great tribute to our local artist as well as the Johnsonville Fire Brigade. Well done.
THUMBS DOWN: To the residents of Phillips Lane in Bairnsdale who have kept two property numbers on their gate posts instead of the current property. This is very confusing for police, ambulance, fire brigade and SES.
THUMBS UP: To a local football umpire who on leaving his whistle in the sheds at half time improvised by imitating the whistle noise to blow an early free kick in the second half of the thirds at Stratford.
THUMBS DOWN: To the operators of mobility scooters who charge on to roundabouts into traffic believing they have right of way. The same in car parks and supermarkets.
