Last week was a huge week at the WORLD precinct for the Bairnsdale Netball Association (BNA).
After proudly hosting the Eastern Division of the Association Championships, showcasing incredible talent from across the region, the week was capped off with the celebration of the term one and two junior Thursday night grand finals, a fantastic finish to what has been a highly successful season.
Throughout the terms the BNA welcomed 32 participants in their Net Set Go program, alongside six teams in the 11 and under division, 10 teams in the 13 and under division, and nine teams in the 15 and under division.
Officials are delighted with these outstanding numbers for a growing association, highlighting the importance of continued development in the younger age groups.
This growth is also a reflection of the success and strength of the BNA representative squad programs.
Both grand finals were competitive matches played in great spirit with the commitment and sportsmanship a credit to all players, coaches, umpires and supporters for contributing to such a positive and successful finale and season proper.
In the 13 and under finale, the Lucknow Swoop held on to beat the highly talented Redlegs 28-26.
The 15 and under grand final was much clearer cut, Lucky Dips winners over the Redlegs 35-20.
Key dates and registration details for our term three and four of the junior and senior competitions will be released shortly.
BNA is also thrilled to announce the introduction of an under-nine’s program next term, in response to growing community interest and to further support the development of its youngest players.
