Despite a slow start the unbeaten Lakes Entrance under 13s have been victorious again during round nine of the East Gippsland Junior Football Association at the Lakeside Oval.
The fourth-ranked Lucknow put up a great fight, leading at quarter time by 11 points, four points at half time and a goal at the final change before the Seagulls found their mojo.
They kicked three unanswered goals in the final term, keeping the gallant Magpies scoreless to win running away by 13 points.
Makayla Sowden (three goals) was in great form up forward, well supported by Patrick McGinty, Keanu Brown, John Sowden, Jack Hayllar, Rocky Wetere-Katipa and Jacob Spiker helped inspire the last quarter onslaught.
The Seagulls sit a game clear of second-placed Wy Yung on the ladder.
In the under 15s the second-placed Seagulls easily accounted for the fourth-rated, Magpies, comfortably winning by 50 points.
The Seagulls put the match out of reach early having a field day in front of goal, kicking 25 majors, led by Billy Warfe (five), Mitch Ware (four), Isaac Zagami (three), Tayte Gibbs, Henry Lothian, Kye Piper and Jeremy Rotheram (two each).
Among the better players in an outstanding team performance were Cohen Kleinitz, Zac Elfrink, Ware, Lothian, Warfe and Archer Connally.
The Seagulls will make the trip to Orbost this Sunday to do battle with the Blues at Lochiel Park.
