THUMBS UP: To the people behind the Lake of China in Bairnsdale. What a wonderful presence you’ve had in our town for more than 40 years. Bringing Chinese cuisine to our region is one thing, but the memories people have made at your establishment will last forever. Thank you, enjoy retirement.
THUMBS DOWN: Are the roadworks complete at the McEacheran Street roundabout? Seems as though it has done nothing to improve traffic flow at peak times and with a properly marked line who knows when/where to form one lane? An accident won’t be too far away.
THUMBS UP: To the young man who helped me when I had a fall on the footpath last week. Your assistance was amazing. Fortunately I only had a bruise and didn’t come off worse for wear.
THUMBS UP: It’s great to see three of East Gippsland’s most beautiful towns in Marlo, Lakes Entrance and Paynesville nominated for Victorian tourism awards. We live in a beautiful part of the country and it’s a great promotion for our region.
THUMBS DOWN: To the local football supporters who heckled an elderly umpire last Saturday when he couldn’t bend over to pick up the ball during the final quarter of a senior game. The poor man was knackered.
