The Bairnsdale Field and Game May Mother’s Day shoot saw 72 competitors in attendance with bright, sunny calm weather and targets set in new untried locations.
Jason Corbett had a day out winning the “AA” event (75 target), shooting a straight 25 and taking home the new 25 Target Straight Medallion.
Other winners included Andrew Jorgenson (“A” grade), David Needham
(“B” grade), Matthew Tulloch (“C” grade), Cooper White (sub juniors), Caleb Osler (juniors), Joanne Russell (woman’s) and Jim Wood (veterans).
The 50 target event was taken out by Chris Young, while it was great to see dual Olympian Aislin Jones out on the range with father Dave.
The club was again grateful for those who travelled to make it to the shoot and those faces they have not seen for some time.
Obviously an event like this can’t take place without the efforts of the volunteers, who continue to make their time available to set up and run the shoots, maintain the ground and run Friday practice. They continue to be the lifeblood of the club.
Practice is currently being held every Friday from 3pm, with the next shoot on June 8, with a 75 and 50 target handicap events.
