Friday mixed pairs winners: Pam Carter and Ray Kennedy (Sale).

Last week the Paynesville Bowls Club conducted its 25th annual Week of Bowls Carnival.

The event attracted an impressive average of approximately 90 players per day over the five days, with competitors from 38 different clubs represented from south-east New South Wales, Gippsland and beyond.

Local MP Tim Bull officially opened the event, and Norm Trembath, one of the main initiators of the first Week of Bowls back in 1998, rolled the first kitty.

The Paynesville Primary School choir received a great reception from the bowlers after singing the National Anthem.

More than 50 volunteers from the Paynesville Bowling Club worked hard during the week to help make the event a great success.

Planning is already underway for next

year’s event.

Monday mixed fours winners: Jenny Woolard, Peter Huntley, Kevin Savage and Keith Taylor.
Thursday ladies two-bowl triples winners: Lyn Wellington and Val Hardy, (Paynesville) who combined with Judy Beesley (Mount Martha).
Thursday men’s three-bowl triples winners: Tony Cockson/Laurie Etherton, Richard Hoodless and Alan Schwennesen.
Tuesday open triples winners: Glynis Bugeja, Ray Ancheleri and Marty Bugeja (all Paynesville).
Wednesday men’s pairs winners: Rob Caley (Ulladulla) and Peter Hardy (Paynesville).
Wednesday ladies pairs winners: Carla Proud and Gail Palmer from Howitt Park Bowling Club.
