Last week the Paynesville Bowls Club conducted its 25th annual Week of Bowls Carnival.
The event attracted an impressive average of approximately 90 players per day over the five days, with competitors from 38 different clubs represented from south-east New South Wales, Gippsland and beyond.
Local MP Tim Bull officially opened the event, and Norm Trembath, one of the main initiators of the first Week of Bowls back in 1998, rolled the first kitty.
The Paynesville Primary School choir received a great reception from the bowlers after singing the National Anthem.
More than 50 volunteers from the Paynesville Bowling Club worked hard during the week to help make the event a great success.
Planning is already underway for next
year’s event.
