Past Reverend at the St Nicholas' Anglican Church in Lakes Entrance Barbara Logan was guest speaker at the church's Biggest Morning Tea last Tuesday.

The St Nicholas Anglican Church in Lakes Entrance held a Cancer Council Biggest Morning Tea last Tuesday.

The morning proved to be a great success with 63 people attending, enjoying each other’s company and a wide variety of cakes, slices and a cuppa.

Former reverend at St Nicholas’ Barbara Logan returned as guest speaker for the event. She spoke of the cancer journey of her late husband Jim and emphasised the need for medical check-ups and reading your body to know when something is not right.

Parish secretary Kath Grandy said $1839 was raised through entry, stalls and raffles.

“I would like to thank everyone who made the morning such a success,” Kath said.

“Special thanks to Lakes Entrance Secondary College staff who also held a morning tea to support us and contributed $190.”

Members of St Nick’s Fiona Bull and Kath Grandy drew the lucky winners of the many raffles.
Anna Hirvonen was on the stall selling tea cosies.
Sharon Kavanagh, Dorothy Tanner, Helen Gibson, Linda Voumard and Geva Kramer enjoyed the morning tea.
Lynn Kohler, Doreen Clarke and Sandra Smith were manning the stalls.
Ruth and Kevin Cross with Marianne Harris from Metung.
Sandra Zerman was selling handcrafted bibs as a fundraiser.
Susan Wytkamp, Helen Yomo, Lyn Sutton, Helen Funnell and Helen Ireland enjoyed each other’s company.
