There was no April meeting of the Lakes Entrance Garden Club as the Mechanics Hall was being used as a polling place for the federal election.
The April outing was
to Northview Park, the garden of Ann and Stan Barker at Toorloo Arm. Nature turned on a beautiful sunny and warm day to walk around this large country garden.
As gardeners often do, Ann and Stan have gently extended the garden into the nearby paddocks. The garden was so bright with all the autumn colours from the many deciduous trees and shrubs – it was a joy.
Sixty-two members attended and had a great day, not only enjoying the garden, but also the great barbecue lunch provided.
The May meeting was held on Monday, May 19, at the Mechanics Hall.
