Lakes Entrance lost a vital East Gippsland Football Netball League reserves match by just seven points to Stratford last Saturday at the Lakeside Oval.
The match pitted the fourth and fifth rated teams in the competition against each other, the Swans now eight points clear on the ladder after banking the important four points.
Stratford led at every change, the Seagulls always within striking distance but unable to ever get their noses in front.
The Swans defended their eight-point three quarter time margin, despite the Seagulls throwing everything at them in a torrid last term.
Noah Bottom was again prominent up forward for Lakes, contributing four of his side’s seven goals, joined in the best by Ryan Hooper, Tim Sinclair, Michael Sowden, Scott Latta and Byron Daley.
The ladder leading Lakes Entrance thirds continued their magnificent form, keeping
their magnificent unbeaten season record intact, with a sensational 88-point victory over Stratford.
Charlie Graham was again pivotal up forward with six goals, while Harper Davis finished with three, among the best were Charlie Graham, Bill Prior, Davis, Harrison Bennett, Thomas Graham and Wil Daniel.
Lakes Entrance will host Wy Yung this Saturday.
