Lindenow South consolidated its hold on third place on the Omeo District “A” grade netball ladder, but only just, holding off a gallant Buchan at the Buchan Recreation Reserve last Saturday.
It was the Swampies’ third win for the season as they held on for a thrilling 33-31 win over the Wilmas, who were devastated to be denied their first win for 2025.
They will take plenty of confidence from the game, even though they went down and will go into this week’s battle of cellar dwellars against Swifts Creek as favourites, with both sides chasing their first victory of the season.
Swifts Creek was no match for Swan Reach, eclipsed by 42 goals while in the other match Omeo Benambra outplayed fourth placed Bruthen to the tune of 26 goals.
Among the best for the Alpine Ranges were Lily Hawkins, Natalie Mitchell and Indi Ahsam, with Sophie Kennedy and Bridget Camera again impressing for the Bulldogs.
In other matches this week Bruthen will host Swan Reach, and Lindenow South and Omeo Benambra will go head to head in the clash of the top four sides.
It will be interesting to see if the gap between the top two and the rest has lessened.
